Platform Usability, Test Automation & Web Services Enhancements

This release introduces a redesigned user experience, streamlined navigation, enhanced test development capabilities, advanced defect management, and a powerful Web Services Workbench. These improvements help teams work faster, improve automation efficiency, and simplify API testing and resource management across the FireFlink platform.

Platform

Editing Resources/Container Name

  • Users can quickly rename resources and containers with a simple double-click on their names.
  • Single Page UI Revamp
  • The FireFlink platform UI has been redesigned to enhance usability and accessibility.
  • Users can navigate across different sections effortlessly from any screen.
  • Provides a smoother and more intuitive user experience.

Quick Access Navigation

  • Introduced a Quick Access section at the top of the screen for one-click navigation between sections.
  • Reduces navigation time and improves productivity.

Resource and Container Creation

  • Users can create resources or containers anywhere in the tree structure using the arrow functionality.
  • Supports creation above, below, or within the selected container.

Test Development

  • Automation Status column introduced to track execution status of modules and scripts.
  • Automation status is also visible during suite creation for easier script selection.
  • Users can execute manual test cases directly from the Test Development section.
  • Real-time execution status is displayed for script and suite executions in the Execution Dashboard.
  • Failed steps can be automatically re-run during runtime if configured.
  • Step-level results can be accessed in just two clicks from the execution section.

Defect Management

  • Users can link and manage related defects directly within the platform.
  • Screenshots and execution videos are automatically attached while creating defects.
  • Users can follow or unfollow defects and receive updates on discussions and changes.
  • Defects can now be deleted from the platform.
  • Script names are automatically mapped and displayed during defect creation.

Web Service

  • Dedicated Web Services Workbench introduced for creating collections and managing API requests.
  • Supports direct import of Postman collections.
  • Custom JavaScript code snippets and assertions can be created.
  • API requests can be recreated from API history.
  • Requests created in the Workbench can be used as NLP in scripts.
  • Binary body type is supported for API requests.
  • Response preview functionality is available.
